Traditions worth keeping
Horses worth riding
At 2Rein, we don’t just start colts or train horses — we live this work every day. Before the sun comes up, there’s hay to put out, gates to fix, horses to check. Most tend to romanticize this lifestyle. Some days go smooth. Some days are all dust in your eyes, choice words escaping, ripping open the crotch of your pants in the first hour of the day, rope burns, chasing cattle through the brush — and sloughs that will swallow a horse. This life isn’t tidy, and it’s never the same two days in a row — but that’s what makes it real.
Our job is to develop good horses and good hands the right way — with feel, timing, and respect for the stock. We draw from the old Californio traditions, working ranch experience from Argentina and the Western U.S. to the Canadian prairies. A lifetime of learning from the best horsemen. Over 20 years of starting colts and learning from the horse. If you’re here, it’s because you want more than just a ride — you want to understand the horse, the cattle, and the culture that ties it all together. . .
Welcome.
Our creed
Services we offer. . .
-
Farrier Services
A professional who was trained in the U.S. and practiced in Argentina and Europe as well.
We offer farrier services focused on the overall well-being of the horse, from traditional shoeing to barefoot rehabilitation. Our goal is always to advocate for the horse and listen to what each one truly needs.
Our knowledge is constantly growing each season as we dedicate ourselves to our work and continued education through equine nutrition, working directly with veterinarians, equine podiatrist, champion blacksmiths and more.
-
Ranch & Cattle Operations
Now offering day work and seasonal help to ranches and feedlots. We bring experience in large-scale herd health management (up to 8,000 head) and working expansive grazing allotments (up to 350,000 acres).
Our experience spans traditional grazing operations, cow-calf herds, yearlings, sale barns, feedlots, and close-knit family ranches.
There’s always more to learn, and our work grows stronger each season.
-
Training
Over 20 years of experience with horses, mules and donkeys. From gentling and halter breaking to colt starting and developing finished bridle horses, we offer training that prepares animals for real work and long-term usefulness.
Our program is rooted in the traditions of Californio horsemanship, with a focus on feel, timing, and respect. We believe in developing the individual at their own pace, with fairness. Every horse, mule, or donkey gets a fair deal and the chance to become a confident, reliable partner.

Cowboy Internship
We’re building a hands-on cowboy internship program for those who want more than a riding vacation — this is the real work of the West. Students can learn how to cowboy, handle cattle with low-stress stockmanship, start colts, and live the day-to-day life of a working ranch.
Whether you dream of joining a cowboy school, finding a ranch internship in Canada, or learning how to work on a ranch as a foreigner, this program is designed to give you the skills and experiences that only come from long days in the saddle.
📅 Launching Summer 2026 — details coming soon.
