Traditions worth keeping
Horses worth riding
At 2Rein, we don’t just start colts or train horses — we live this work every day. Before the sun comes up, there’s hay to put out, gates to fix, horses to check. Most tend to romanticize this lifestyle. Some days go smooth. Some days are all dust, words you hope no-one ever hears you speak, rope burns, and chasing cattle through the brush and slews that will swallow a horse. This life isn’t tidy, and it’s never the same two days in a row — but that’s what makes it real.
Our job is to develop good horses and good hands the right way — with feel, timing, and respect for the stock. We draw from the old Californio traditions, working ranch experience from Argentina and the Western U.S. to the Canadian prairies. It’s been a lifetime of learning from the best horsemen we could find. It’s been over 20 years of starting colts and learning from the horse. If you’re here, it’s because you want more than just a ride — you want to understand the horse, the cattle, and the culture that ties it all together. . .

Services we offer. . .
-
Farrier Services
We offer farrier services that focus on the overall wellbeing of the horse. Traditional shoeing services as well as rehabilitation of the barefoot hoof. We will always be the advocate of the horse and listen to what the horse truly needs.
A professional who was trained in the US and practiced in Argentina and Europe as well.

Cowboying/Ranch Services/Day Rider/Day Work
We offer day work and seasonal help to ranches and feedlots. With a background in large scale herd health management of up to 8,000 head on a single operation and riding up to 350,000 acres of grazing allotment. We have experience in everything from traditional grazing operations to feedlots. Cow calf, yearling, sale barns and helping out at more close knit family ranches. You name it, we’ve likely experienced it.

Training
Mules, horses, and donkeys — they’re all part of this life, and we have over 20 years of experience working with them. From gentling and halter breaking to colt starting and developing finished ranch or rope stock, we offer training that prepares animals for real work and long-term usefulness. Our program is rooted in the traditions of Californio horsemanship, with a focus on feel, timing, and respect. We believe in developing the individual animal, not forcing it into a mold. Every horse, mule, or donkey gets a fair deal and the chance to become a confident, reliable partner.
